Sogi Interview
Who are some of your biggest influences?
“Some of my recent influences have honestly been my homies like Vyne, Noah, and Tooly, they have been dropping nothing but heat. Overall tho my biggest influences would be summrs n that whole scene/group. If I never met/found summrs in 2017 I don’t think I would’ve ever gotten into making music or at least the underground scene/sound.”
What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?
“Growing up it was dope to see all of these different types of genres pop off WA. Nowadays tho a lot of people got egos and just be hating on each other for no reason. When n***as could come together and all be popping. A lot of secret animosity.”
What are your interests outside of music?
“Besides the music I’m into photography, designing/making clothes, playing sports, and really just exploring the world. Just be livin fr.”
How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?
“I feel like I got songs for different situations type sh*t. I would describe most of my music as relatable, some sh*t you might have been through or can just feel.”
What does music mean to you?
“Everything honestly, I don’t know if I would be typing this right now if I didn’t have music.”
What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?
“Being more consistent with drops!”
What song would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?
“I would recommend “Time Away” because it’s a vibe and I feel like people who have gone through sh*t whether it’s a heartbreak, death, etc. you would relate to it.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“My friends mostly, they push me to be on my sh*t, and hearing the fye they be making pushes me, even more, to get locked in and create my art.”
Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?
“Really depends on if I’m vibing or feeling it yanno? Doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, if the vibe is off then it doesn’t feel right recording.”
If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?
As of right now, I would love to get a song in with Ksuave, because he making hard sh*t, but our sounds would match together on a fye a** 30nickk beat.”
Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?
“Just do it bruv. Take the risk. Believe in yourself because the only person stopping you is YOU. F*ck what the haters be saying; if you like it then keep it going. Everybody got different ears, just need the right ones to listen.”
