Rifa Interview

Who are some of your biggest influences?

“Sh*t to be honest I’d say, Chief Keef, Summrs, Young Thug, Baby Smoove, and I’d have to put Carti up there as well.”

What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?

“It was pretty meh to me. A lot of the people sound the same but there are definitely some unique talent here fosho that deserve some recognition.”

What are your interests outside of music?

“I love to play video games, I actually used to stream heavily when I was in middle school. I be watching anime heavy too, especially since all the good animes starting back up.”

How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?

“It’s definitely different and I’m not just saying it either. I feel like you gotta be high to really understand my music. (not to sound like a bad influence) but once you understand it I gotta whole catalog you can go through and enjoy.”

What does music mean to you?

“I love music man, this sh*t everything.”

What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?

“I actually got a EP coming soon called “EternityPops” with my bro popsfrm2k5 (pops the

producer for this EP). I also went to the studio for one of the songs on that EP and my boy

B.Smith helped me cook some sh*t up. Y’all definitely gonna enjoy.”

What song would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?

I’d recommend Stick Talk with Slime Dollaz. The sh*t just hard as f*ck, you’ll have it on repeat.”

Where do you find inspiration?

“Sh*t I want to be the ni**a doing the inspiration, so therefore I can’t let up.”

Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?

Night time fosho. I like recording alone in my home studio with the lights completely off. Helps me think way more and gets my creative process going. I don’t know I’m just weird like that.”

If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?

“That boy SlimeSito. That ni**a is so hard. I used to bump him religiously back in high school. Imma definitely get a feature with him in the future tho. We ain’t never talk but I’m speaking it into existence.”

Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?

Bro be consistent. F*ck all them ni**as hating on you, they losers anyways. And make sure you enjoy the process fr.”
