Havik Interview
Who are some of your biggest influences?
“Those tend to change a lot, but I’d say currently it’s just Mike, Stunna Gambino, and Toosii”
What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?
“Growing up in the WA music scene was amazing, the culture and energy was there every single day. We all support and loved each other, and wanted nothing more than to see one of us win, cause we knew that’s all it would take to really peel the lid off on the pnw scene. So much raw and unrecognized talent.”
What are your interests outside of music?
“I’m just on a healthy focus so going to the gym and making sure I’m staying active essentially.”
How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?
“It’s a vibe, nothing is forced. Just smoke something, relax and let your brain paint the picture for you!”
What does music mean to you?
“Music is a therapeutic thing for me, helps me release my inner thoughts in a creative way, and makes me feel lighter in a sense.”
What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?
“In the next 3 months, imma have a new single out and will keep showing my progress on my fitness journey.”
What song would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?
“I would suggest Say It, it’s the most slept-on song I have, very raw and real emotion over a crazy beat, it’s addicting once you sit and listen to it!”
Where do you find inspiration?
“I find inspiration from the people and things around me. If it feels dull i’ll go walk the beach or take a drive to let my mind drift away a little farther.”
Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?
“I prefer at the night, that’s when all the social pressures wear off and you’re left with your raw thoughts, unfiltered and ready to be dealt with, that’s the best time to record in my opinion.”
If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?
“I would have to say, Mike. He was my first concert so I’m biased lol, but the way his melodies capture emotion is amazing and I know i’d be able to learn so much from him.”
Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?
“The biggest advice I’d give someone is to not focus on numbers, don’t care about what other people think. If you don’t do music for YOU, you’ll end up giving up and slipping into a dark place. Just have fun with it!”
