Yellow Interview

Who are some of your biggest influences?

“I guess I would say is life... I don’t have any particular person that influences me. My mother is the person I look up to. She is a strong woman.”

What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?

I didn’t really grow up in the music scene in Washington. I was born in Puerto Rico than at some point moved out to Seattle… I left Washington in 2006 to live in NYC.”

What are your interests outside of music?

“One - I love to eatttttt food! If I’m not at home cooking I’m out trying something new

Two- I love modeling, I freelance my shoots right now, and get to show another creative side to me

Three - I like to be involved with the community and help out in different ways I can.”

How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?

“If someone never listened to my music I would describe it as soulful centric/ r&b (can’t really pin it to a main category.)”

What does music mean to you?

“Music is therapy to me. Music is a way I'm able to express and communicate my emotions and thoughts that I struggle to do sometimes on a day-to-day bases. Music is my life I feel like it’s a way for me to breathe…”

What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?

“We’ll in the next couple of months my EP should be completely done and posted out on all platforms… it’s kinda focusing on mental health..so I’m pretty excited to share a bit of me with everyone …also got a show in December (date To be announced)”

What song would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?

“I would recommend my Spring Time song..it’s a freestyle but it has so much feeling and emotion to it...Every time I listen to the song I always feel better after… like the frequency is just right…if you’re feeling down just give it a listen…”

Where do you find inspiration?

“I find inspiration from almost everything around me… the struggle I’ve been Thru the pain I’ve felt.. the things I’ve seen.. the good days I believe to come… the people that honor me and  love me unconditionally…It's really seeing everyone putting hard work Into something that they love and that are so passionate about that’s also just so inspiring.”

Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?

“Mmmmm I don’t really have a preference on when to record…all depends on the mood.. but I tell you something about recording late nights that my mind just gets so creative…”

If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?

“If there would be any features I would want would probably just be Dej Loaf … why... her music just speaks to me on a different level…”

Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?

“Follow your passion.. keep in mind that you could do anything you put your mind to as long as you put in the hard work and consistency is the key.. some might have some bad days but they will never outweigh the good just have to be able to take the punches as you go if you know what I mean. The only person that can stop you is yourself…”
