Who are some of your biggest influences?
“Myself. When I started out making music, ni**as would clown me and throw shade so I had nobody but myself. I sat in my room for hours upon hours every day making songs. I made so many songs on my MacBook that it ran out of storage. Eventually, ni**as caught onto the wave like they always do.”
What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?
“Egos. Everybody got some sort of superstar ego which makes collaborating difficult. If we all worked together we’d move way faster in this scene.. when I was on tour in Atlanta, I saw every one of them working together. Why do u think every hot new artist is coming out of Atlanta? Because ni**as work together. We gotta put all dat bullsh*t aside and get this money.”
What are your interests outside of music?
“When I’m not in the studio I’m watching anime all day literally. It’s either anime or having s*x haha. That’s it… maybe play some golf here and there to clear my mind. Also, I like 2 do drugs wit my friends haha.”
How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?
“I can't find the words to describe my music because it’s always evolving. But usually, it’s some rage sh*t.”
What does music mean to you?
“Music is everything to me. When I had nothing and no one, I always had music. Music saved my life.. literally. There were times when I felt I didn’t have a purpose in life anymore and I found a purpose when I picked up the pen.”
What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?
“Consistency. Touring.”
What song would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?
“I would recommend my song I wanna party because that song literally describes me haha. All I wanna do is turn up and not think about the problems the world is going through.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“I find inspiration in myself and my team around me. Noah (@listentonoah) inspires me every day. We inspire each other to be honest, but that niggas hustle is unmatched... you better believe him and I will be popping very soon.”
Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?
“I love recording late at night because it’s so f**king quiet outside and it’s dark and spooky... Plus ima vampire.”
If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?
“If I could get a feature from anybody right now it would be BLACKP!NK. U can never go wrong wit K-POP haha. That sh*t has taken over the world.”
Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?
“Do it. F**k whoever doubts you. As long as you got yourself, then the world is in your hands. Only you can choose your destiny. It’s going to be hard, and it’s going to seem like all the odds are against you… just keep moving forward.”
