KIINGCALEBB INTERVIEW

Who are some of your biggest influences?

“The people that influence me the most are my step pops and my moms, my mom bring out the thug in me and helped me keep an open mind growing up, and my dad showed me the lifestyle that I live and adapt to now. I can’t forget my boy Benji frank tho, though he always kept it a hunnid with me.”

What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?

“Growing up in the Washington music scene was different cause a lot of people can rock with you and still be your biggest hater. There’s a lot of hidden anonymity towards other artists around the state which makes it harder for networking and a possible glow but if you got it then you can find a way around that.”

What are your interests outside of music?

“Some of the things I like to do outside of music is; clockwork with my buzzn if motion moving slow. I like being with the hoes on some regular type timing, nun too crazy. I smoke til my lungs are black, it’s like s type of healing for me, a Lil getaway or sum. All that or I got a plate of some good eats with me.”

How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?

“I got some music that you could slide I-5 doing 120, couple songs that make you wanna pour another shot too, some songs that’ll make u text that bi*ch that did u wrong. I make music for every feeling for every person.”

What does music mean to you?

“To me, music is an expression of feelings & art it’s like a painting or idea. it gives off a representation of how I’m feeling when I recorded it or how I want you to feel. Life is music, sometimes you’re just on the wrong key or say the wrong note. You gotta find what works for you.”

What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?

“In the next 3 months, I’ll be releasing my first music video, definitely more shows, and entertainment. hella new music on the way, no breaks even when it’s silent.”

What song of yours would recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?

“Miss Ole Lady. I worked a good amount of hours on this (I mix and master that’s why) and I feel like it articulated my voice and my ability to creatively make “good” music and Wartime. the songs just make u feel good and wanna vibe, sum gutta sh*t but not too dark feel me.”

Where do you find inspiration?

“I find inspiration by facing a backwood n just playing beats. it won't take much for me to wanna make music.”

Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?

“I prefer at night if it’s just me recording, I can create my own energy for myself and just do me. I prefer day if I’m with the gang it’s more convenient and there’s more time & energy.”

If you could get a feature from anyone right now who would it be and why?

“It gotta be Baby Smoove, I feel like that’s da only rapper I wanna do a song with, I be using his type beats sometimes and they go perfectly with how I rap.”

Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?

“My advice is to just go for it, I started making on my phone in my garage on diaper boxes and now I’m performing. life’s a risk, u gotta take them to figure out how u want it. and don’t worry bout what people gotta say not everybody gon like your music that’s all music, just take it and run with it.”
