KaiKai Interview
Who are some of your biggest influences?
“My biggest influences are Tupac, Biggie, Lil Sheik, and Bigsad1900.”
What is it like growing up in the Washington music scene?
“ It's been dope watching how the Seattle music scene has progressed over the years with the different types of artists that have been making their marks in the city and I feel like the sound and music scene is still just getting started and will see a lot of progression in the next couple of years. The only thing that has been constant though is the hate that is running through the city especially with this music sh*t, if Seattle really wants to take it to the next level then there needs to be more support and less hate. There's enough bread for everyone to eat.”
What are your interests outside of music?
“Getting money, family, working out, watching sports, and cooking.”
How would you describe your music to someone who has never listened to you?
“I got the hottest sh*t out. Forreal though I got a west coast style but feel like my sound is unique in its own way, I'm versatile with the beats that I use in my music and there will be a lot of growth with the next projects I’m gonna be dropping soon.”
What does music mean to you?
“Sh*t music has been in my life ever since I could remember, from my older family members putting me on to music since I was a baby to me teaching myself how to play instruments and a lot more. I’ve always had a passion for it my entire life and It’s something that I know I could go far with. Music is a big part of me and I see it as another path to not only put myself in position for success but my loved ones as well”
What can fans expect from you within the next 3 months?
”Man I got a 20-song album I've been working on that includes music that I've made from 2019-present, I'm hoping to drop this towards the end of November or early December. Also, have a couple of EPs in the works collabing with some of the homies and producers I've been working with. Otherwise just gonna be dropping singles and music videos until this tape drops. But who knows I might drop a surprise EP leading up to the album.”
What song of yours would you recommend to someone who has never listened to you and why?
“Sh*t all of them keep it a stack but if I gotta pick one song gotta be "Shake Sum'n" with the homie N.f Kae or Bankroll featuring the homie N.f Kae and Mr. kbandz who from New York but bro been making noise in the LA music scene as well.”
Where do you find inspiration?
“When I write music I just think about my life in general. You feel me when I listen to a beat I kinda get a feel for the vibe of it n then whatever topic feels best I just go n let my heart do tha writing from there.”
Do you prefer to record during the day or night and why?
“I don't have a preference ready to get it in whenever omm.”
If you could get a feature from anyone, who would it be and why?
“Imma have to get one from Bigsad fasho but if we talkin a big industry name I'd say Drake we fasho would make a hit.”
Last question, do you have any advice for people wanting to step into the music industry?
“My advice to anyone stepping into the music industry is to learn the business side of it, especially starting out. How to promote yourself properly, make your social media profiles look professional, and understand what it is that gon get people interested in you as an artist. I'm still trying to get better at this myself. Another piece of advice I would say is to keep making music and find your sound. Stack a lot of unreleased music and create a plan on how you gon release yo songs. All of that is gon go a long way in building your fan base. The last piece of advice would be to build yo team. Figure out who's gon help you promote your music, and network with artists, producers, and anyone who can help take your music to the next level, the ones who really support yo vision with this shit gon be on yo team and anyone who aint on the team ain't gon help you level up in this industry.”
