More About Ten V and AstroAngel
“The first half of the EP is experimental rap, It's alternative hip hop to me. the second half is inspired by my roots and the sounds/type of music I heard growing up in the soufend. Shout out to my producers Redshinecrystal based out in Russia and Nomercypyeongchang in Korea and Miles from Lost Boys Studios for mixing and Matthew Wolk for mastering. AstroAngel Intro
“I made the intro because people don't do cool thematic dramatic intros anymore and I wanted to assert myself as a character/present an alter ego - everyone who's someone does that - Nicki - Barbie, Wayne - president carter, Meg - tina snow, asap rocky - pretty flako, Rihanna - bad gyal, the list goes on. The persona AstroAngel is based on a 90s anime - Astroboy who is half human half robot and I resonate with him and like I said this ep is kind of a hybrid right, it’s half experimental, half sounds I grew up on.”
Star
“Star is the first song I wrote at my old job and I was like okay I need to make a song that's me introducing myself, shoutout to Noducksoon all the way in Korea and Vicotine in Cali. I had a fun time developing the song with them and I really enjoy what it turned into.”
Clique
“Okay now I wanted a song for me n my friends, a song anyone could play w their friends, and when writing this song, i was like damn me and my circles and anyone I associate myself really just set the standard for the creative scene in seattle, we are the wave, pull up to the party everybody wanna clique wit my clique, everybody wanna copy paste and click.”
Put it On Me
“Okay put it on me, this song is inspired by the trendsetters of their scene, people who wear what the fuck they want, do what they want, and just DGAF and have that rockstar energy. Darkito KO was the perfect last minute addition to this song and shout out to him, he's all the way out in Columbia.”
Pretty Boy
“Pretty boy, I was like ummmm okay I need something vibey, something for the pretty boys who take care of themselves and it's a big fuck you to toxic masculinity.”
Soufend
“This song is inspired by you guessed it, the soufend. I wanted the beat to be a lil dreamy, a lil nostalgic, and fun. Coming from the soufend really is just a different experience, it's so rich in culture, diversity, and LOVE. I talk about what the community is like and it's really an ode to my experience growing up in the soufend right.”
Necks
“On this is the second song i made, I really just freestyled in the booth and was like yeah im your necks cause im up next, its an outro”
